The Romans left lots of trash during their conquest of the Mediterranean and of Europe.  An Afghani wholesaler had baskets of broken Roman shards and I delighted in finding the best pieces of glass with the most beautiful arrays of natural patina rainbow colors.  To highlight my very special shard of Roman Glass, soldered sterling silver prongs and bail were created.   This pendant is about 1 1/4 inches tall, 2 inches from the top of the bail and hangs 18 inches from a sterling silver spring clasp chain.
